" Spiritual Resources"
with thanks to Penny Sturrock to provide us with such spiritual thoughts.
“The deepest level of communication is not communication. It
is communion. It is wordless. It is beyond words; and it is beyond speech;
and it is beyond concept. Not that we discover a new unity. We discover
an older unity. My dear (sisters), we are already one. But we imagine
that we are not. And what we have to recover is our original unity. What
we have to be is what we are” (Thomas Merton)
"Nothing is more important for people of our time than to recover
the capacity for silence. Silence is the medium of unity." <http://www.wccm.org>
I was struck by this phrase of John Main's
" We begin to appreciate the sheer wonder
of the experience of prayer itself, the wonder of entering into the limitlessness
of Christ’s prayer"
May we all share that experience

322: We all know from our own experience…that one of
the principal things we have to learn from our meditation is to meditate
without expectations.
Page
314:
Can we "live to the full the gift of life that is given to us"?
The essence of meditation is accepting the gift of being while remaining
non-possessive. Each breath is a reminder of the gift of life. As we breathe
out we return the gift.

304: Jesus said: "Peace is my parting gift to you, my
own peace such as the world cannot give you. Set your troubled hearts
at rest and banish your fears. I have spoken these words to you so my
joy may be in you and your joy may be complete" (Jn14:27; 15:11)

299: Meditation as a way of non-violence- and a reminder
that we must "learn" to say our mantra.
Page
290: "Peace beyond ourselves in God. "- what a
world we might create!
Page
286: Simplicity, trust and faith all in one "small word"
- the mantra.
Page
277: The path of meditation is the path of faith and the
sacrament of faith is our silence.
Page
273: Saying the mantra is like dropping the anchor.
Page
245: Meditation is practised in solitude but it is a great
a great way to learn to be in relationship.

241: This week's reading from John Main is coming to you
